Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Force Energy, the constant presence and flow of energy which is us, as well as all around us, like the air we breathe is all around us.

Reiki Reiki is also a technique for accessing and activating a healing vibration of Universal Life Force energy.  Reiki in this sense is a natural healing art that anyone can learn.  Reiki can be used for the self, for others, for relationships, for situations, for any living thing including animals and plants, as well as to energize the food you eat and the water you drink.

Reiki, although a means of working with energy which we cannot see, is not a religion and requires no particular “belief” or belief system.

Reiki, when activated and applied for the purposes of healing, addresses the entire being: body, mind and spirit.  Reiki accesses and catalyzes the body’s natural ability to balance and heal itself, and can open mind and spirit to the possible causes of disease, disharmony and pain. Reiki can help bring healing and transformation to those causes.

Reiki is an integrative healing process: it supports, works in conjunction with, and as an adjunct to medical and emotional therapies.

A Reiki Treatment is a light, hands-on process that is safe, non-manipulative, non-intrusive and non-invasive.  A Reiki treatment usually generates an overall feeling of well-being for the recipient, who may also experience a general feeling of comforting warmth, and often falls into a light sleep.  (Sleeping during a treatment will earn you one gold star, snoring gets you two!)

Learning Reiki for yourself allows you to access and maintain a healing balance in your own body and life, and allows you to gift Reiki to others - including family, friends, and pets.
