Reiki Training

The Usui System of Natural Healing - Reiki is held as an oral tradition.  The training is given in a class situation, in person, so that each student has a personal relationship with a Master for support in their practice of Reiki.  The Master is available for questions as long as the student remains a student of that Master. Reiki is not theoretical - it is a personal practice, an applied practice.   There is nothing to “know” or “believe.” Reiki itself, and your own experience in your practice of Reiki, becomes the teacher.

There are Three Levels of Reiki Training: The levels are seen as serving different functions of Reiki practice, rather than “higher is better.”  It is not necessary to learn anything other than the first level (hands-on physical treatment) to be able to give Reiki to yourself and others for the rest of your life.

Functions of the Reiki Levels of Training:

The function of the first level of Reiki is to work in the physical realm - hands-on.  Hands-on, Reiki on, hands off, Reiki off.

The function of Level II training is to increase and focus the flow of Reiki in physical treatment, and to work beyond the physical in being able to send Reiki energy to a person or situation in any time or space in as focused a way as if a physical treatment were being given.

The function of the Master level is to be able to transfer the ability to access Reiki energy to another through the initiation process.  Other functions include teaching classes, maintaining a personal practice, and if so called, training other Masters in the Usui System of Natural Healing.

Reiki Level I Training In the first level training, you learn everything you need to know about Reiki for the purposes of giving a treatment to yourself and others.  This training is an opportunity to rewaken and reconnect with your own natural healing ability through the attunement process of the four first level Reiki initiations, and through hands-on practice using Reiki energy.

The attunement process, accomplished through the four Reiki initiations in a first level class, basically allows you to automatically attune with the healing, balancing vibration of Reiki energy.  The initiations are ceremonial acts given by the Master to each student, once in each section of the class.  The initiations are both consecutive, (each having its own meaning) and cumulative (each is required to be attuned to the energy in a permanent way).

A Level I training is a hands-on learning experience, and usually occurs in four consecutive three-hour sessions, following the form of a full Reiki treatment.  The first session of the class the history of Reiki is discussed, and the self-healing positions are given and practiced.  Self-healing is considered the heart of the training - first use Reiki for yourself, and then for others.

In the second session of the class the hand positions for treating the head are demonstrated and explained, with time for questions.  Then each student practices giving and receiving Reiki with the head positions.  Using the same format, the third session covers the chest/stomach/torso area; and the fourth session covers the back positions.  The basic functions of the major organs, glands and systems of the body are covered.  By the end of the first level training, you will have both given and received a full Reiki treatment.

At the end of the training class, each student receives a certificate of training.  The cost of the first level of training is $225.

Reiki Level II Training is open to Reiki students who have taken the first level of training, and who feel called to deepen their experience of Reiki practice in their lives. The student needs to have practiced for a minimum of three months, have given and received at least three full Reiki treatments.

The second level of training is usually taught in three sections, and includes a deeper initiation by the Reiki Master.  There is instruction and time for practice in the conscious use of ancient symbols to increase and focus the flow of Reiki energy in physical treatment, to reach the unconscious mind, and to “send” energy through time and space in as focused a way as giving a physical treatment.

At the end of the training class, each student receives a certificate of training.  The cost of the second level of training is $500.
